Silicone brushes are generally used in the pastry industry. They are mainly used to clean pots and utensils and apply seasonings. In the past, domestic brushes were mostly used, but now more and more silicone brushes are used. Its advantage is that it is easier to clean than a brush, and it will not stick the bristles on the food when brushing the seasoning. Silica gel is very stable in nature, non-toxic and odorless, and resistant to high and low temperatures.
However, silicone products also have their own shortcomings, that is, they are prone to mold in a dark and humid environment for a long time. The gaps between the silicone bristles are small, and the air does not circulate, which is easy to breed bacteria. The most important thing is that we usually don't check it at all. Generally, as long as it doesn't look dirty, just rinse it with water and use it directly. But the mold inside is not so easy to wash away.
First of all, after each use of the silica gel brush, be sure to clean it in time and place it in a cool and ventilated place. Don't expose it to the sun for a long time, which will accelerate the aging of the silica gel. It is best to hang it so that the bristles are perpendicular to the ground so that the water can flow down naturally. If it has not been used for a long time, we can also use alcohol or disinfectant to disinfect. Here is a reminder that silica gel products are not resistant to strong acids and alkalis, so it is best to dilute them when using the disinfectant, and the ratio is the same as cleaning other household products. It can also be boiled directly in boiled water. Generally, the temperature resistance of silica gel products can reach more than 200℃, so boiling water disinfection is also possible.
