How to make silicone mold

1. Vacuuming to remove air bubbles

After the silica gel and the curing agent are evenly mixed, the vacuuming process should be carried out. The vacuuming time should not be too long. Under normal circumstances, it should not exceed ten minutes. If the vacuuming time is too long, the silica gel will be cured immediately, resulting in a cross-linking reaction. Silicone becomes piecemeal and cannot be painted or poured.

2. Stir the silica gel and curing agent evenly

The appearance of the silicone mold is a flowing liquid, the A component is silicone, and the B component is a curing agent. Example: Take 100 grams of silica gel, add 2 grams of curing agent (Note: The silica gel and curing agent must be stirred evenly. If they are not evenly stirred, one piece of the mold will be cured, and one piece will not be cured, and the silica gel will dry and cure unevenly. It will affect the service life of the silicone mold and the number of times of overturning, and even cause the mold to be scrapped).

 3. Painting operation process

Pour the silica gel that has been evacuated from the air bubbles on the product by brushing or pouring (Note: the product or model to be copied before pouring the silica gel must be coated with a release agent or release agent). Then apply the silica gel on the product. The coating must be even. After 30 minutes, paste a layer of gauze or glass fiber cloth to increase the strength and tension of the silica gel. Then apply another layer of silica gel, and then paste a layer of gauze or fiberglass cloth, so that it is enough after two times. Only in this way, the service life of the opened silicone mold and the number of times of mold overturning will be relatively much improved, so that costs can be saved and efficiency can be improved.

 4. Production of outer mold

The general method is to surround the mold with plastic boards or wooden boards. One is to fill the mold cabinet with plaster. Glass fiber cloth, then brush and paste, repeat two or three layers to complete the outer mold of the mold.
